Here is a question:

If the children’s bread could not be given to the dogs, then why did Jesus go to the region around Tyre and Sidon, a Gentile territory?

Tyre and Sidon were part of Phoenicia. This woman came from northern Phoenicia. In ancient times, that region had been conquered by Syria. Therefore, the people living there were referred to as Syrophoenicians.

Tyre and Sidon were part of the territory that God had promised to Abraham and his descendants. However, because Israel did not conquer those areas, they later became neighbouring territories.

Since Tyre was a major port city, it grew into a strategically important and economically prosperous region. Pride filled the hearts of its people.

Ezekiel even spoke of the pride of Tyre in terms comparable to Satan’s arrogance and defiance against God.

It was from this very region, which had been condemned by God, that a helpless woman came to Jesus concerning her daughter.

What Jesus saw in her was great faith. She completely believed Jesus’ words that her daughter had been healed, and when she returned home, a great miracle was waiting for her...!

Those who had reacted so boldly against the Jewish Rabbi in their “live” videos fell silent.

The Old Testament tells us how Ruth, a woman from the cursed Moabites, became blessed and became part of the genealogy of Christ. In the same way, the Gospels proclaim how a woman from the condemned region of Tyre was also blessed.

Dear beloved ones,

Set aside your complaints about limitations and the accusations of yesterday’s curses, and come to Jesus with faith!

The history of yesterday’s helplessness will change...

The affliction of sickness will be defeated...

The power of curses will be broken...

The cruelty of hatred will disappear...

And the name of God will be glorified!
